Glenn Gould’s Grammy Honors

Preserve the Dead: Glenn Gould (Sept 25, 1932 – Oct 4, 1982)

I’m in love with Glenn Gould. My love for him may not rival his love for J.S. Bach or his childhood practice piano bench that he required for performance, but it’s strong enough to bring tears to my eyes. I didn’t watch the Grammy’s–instead, I was attending a house concert celebrating local music and community. However, It seems like this was one of the only worhwhile things that went on at the Grammy’s.

Those who knew Gould say he would have been amused at last night’s award because it came with a degree of fanfare — something he avoided.
